Established in 2024, the Animal Liberation Film Festival is an independent charity dedicated to nurturing the vegan and animal rights filmmaking community.

We provide a platform for unique, meaningful, and impactful stories that foster a society where animals are liberated and valued.

Dr. Gonzalo Villanueva

Author of 'A Transnational History of the Australian Animal Movement'. He teaches political science at the University of Melbourne and founded ALFF to bridge academia, activism, and cinema.

Vice-President

Dr. Tara Lomax

A screen media researcher specializing in contemporary cinema. She leads the postgraduate screen studies program at AFTRS.

Emma Håkansson

Founding director of Collective Fashion Justice and author of 'Sub-Human'. Her film 'Willow and Claude' won international awards.
